The Bible says this about Jesus,
“In those days, the crowds being very great with nothing to eat, *Jesus* called His disciples to Him and said to them, “I HAVE *COMPASSION* on the crowd, because they have now been with Me three days and have *NOTHING TO EAT*. If I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint on the way, for some of them have come from afar.” (Mark 8:1-3 MEV)
Jesus had just preached to thousands of people and He didn’t just call it a day. He did NOT say, “what a great turn out,” or “you are all dismissed, see you next week and be sure to bring a friend.” No, He knew they were physically *HUNGRY*, He had COMPASSION on them and fed them.
Shouldn’t we be like Jesus? Is my spouse hungry? Are my children hungry? Is my co-worker hungry? Is that homeless in the corner hungry? For you pastors, are my followers hungry? If they are, feed them! Cook or buy them some food.
Our Lord Jesus is our example that we should follow. After all, we call ourselves Christians, meaning “followers of Christ”.
The Bible says, “Let each of you look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:4 MEV)
Do you think of others before yourselves? Jesus did!
